Account Deletion Information
We understand that you may want to delete your Okuze account. This page explains the process, timeline,
and consequences of account deletion.
⚠️ Important: This Action Is Permanent
Deleting your account is irreversible. Once deleted, you will NOT
be able to recover:
- Your recipes and photos
- Your comments and interactions
- Your messages and chat history
- Your followers and following lists
- Your bookmarks and saved content
Please be certain before proceeding with account deletion.
How to Delete Your Account
In-App Deletion Process

Open the Okuze app on your mobile device

Navigate to your Profile by tapping the profile icon

Access Settings by tapping the gear/settings icon

Scroll down to the "Account" section

Tap "Delete Account" (red text at the bottom)

Read the warning about what will be deleted
7
Type "DELETE" in the confirmation field

Tap "Permanently Delete Account" to confirm
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:
Personal Information
- Your profile information (name, bio, avatar)
- Your email address and login credentials
- Your account preferences and settings
User-Generated Content
- All recipes you've created
- All photos and media you've uploaded
- All comments you've posted
- All likes and bookmarks
Social Data
- Your follower and following relationships
- Your chat messages and voice messages
- Your notification history
Analytics & Usage Data
- Your app usage statistics
- Your device information
- Your interaction history
Deletion Timeline
📅 Data Removal Schedule
- Immediate: Your account is deactivated and becomes inaccessible
- Within 24 hours: Your profile and content are removed from public view
- Within 7 days: All personal data is deleted from active databases
- Within 30 days: All data is permanently removed from all systems
- Within 90 days: Data is purged from backup systems
Note: Some data may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business
purposes (e.g., preventing fraud, resolving disputes).
What Happens to Other Users
- Your recipes: Will be completely removed from the platform
- Your comments: Will be removed (may leave gaps in conversations)
- Messages: Will be deleted from both sides of the conversation
- Your followers: Will no longer see your profile or content
Alternatives to Account Deletion
If you're not ready to permanently delete your account, consider these alternatives:
1. Take a Break
Simply log out of the app and take time away. Your account will remain intact.
2. Delete Specific Content
You can manually delete individual recipes, photos, or comments without deleting your entire account.
3. Change Privacy Settings
Adjust who can see your content and interact with you in Settings.
4. Disable Notifications
Turn off push notifications if you find them overwhelming.

If you're experiencing issues with the app or have privacy concerns, we're here to help before you decide
to delete your account.
Data Export (Before Deletion)
Before deleting your account, you may want to export your data. To request a copy of your data:
- Email support@okuze.com with the subject "Data Export
Request"
- Include your account email and username
- We will send you a download link within 7 business days
Your data export will include recipes, comments, and profile information in JSON format.
Re-Creating an Account
After deleting your account:
- You can create a new account with the same email after 30 days
- Your old data will NOT be restored
- You will start fresh as a new user
- Your old username may not be available
Legal and Privacy Information
Account deletion is part of your rights under our Privacy Policy and
Terms of Service.
For users in the EU (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have the right to request data deletion at any time.
We comply with all applicable data protection regulations.
